This is, again, modeled largely on how freelancing networks already work—the site provides a one-stop shop for collaboration, including a chat, file sharing, etc. The primary difference is that it’s for personal use rather than mercenary kind of work, obviously.

The basic functionality of these workshops is straightforward, but it’s an area in which there’s plenty of room for growth as the site develops. We’d like to add video chat functionality early, for instance. We’d also like to be able to do realtime collaborative document editing (like PiratePad and Google Drive feature) in the earliest phases. Some features, like whiteboards (for realtime shared drawing spaces) will come a bit later.
