Showcasing

We’d like to shine a spotlight on the best creations the community comes up. We’ll regularly feature user favorites (users can give props to projects they like) as well as staff picks. These will be featured on the front page.

Eventually, we’d like to put out regular anthologies of the community’s work—a digital magazine, video compilations, albums, whatever. Mostly, we want the network to remain open-ended and not force any sort of work (or artists) into categories. By remaining flexible, we can allow for emergent use, and we can respond to what the community is using the community for, if that’s not too convoluted to follow.

We’re also excited by the idea of having regular contests, which is a fun way of tying in sponsors and guest judges, too.

You know how you sometimes go to a website and see where someone else is making something cool, and it just makes you feel inspired and excited about the prospect of being a human alive in the world? We want that feeling to happen every time you log in.
